Tom Dunnwald, wife Sonja and daughter Clara moved to Northeast in 2002 and joined Eastside Food Co-op in time to see the store open in 2003 - they now look forward to the Co-op's 15th anniversary in December 2018. Tom first visited a food co-op in 1971 - North Country Co-op in Minneapolis. His father was a large animal veterinarian, and he grew up in Midwestern agriculture as it transitioned to industrial production methods. Tom is proud of the impact food co-ops have had on the American food system, and he is excited about our future impacts and improvements. Tom is proud to be active in the cooperative movement and eager to see our collective power continue to bring economic benefit and change.
