Oatmeal Pancakes with Midwest Food Connection
While students are engaged in distance learning instead of going into their classrooms, enrichment programming in our schools has shifted to meet our kids where they are. One of our partners, Midwest Food Connection has been bringing healthy food and cooking in the classroom since 1993!
Midwest Food Connection (MFC) brings exciting, practical and interactive lessons about healthful eating to dozens of schools in the Twin Cities area. In order to stay connected to their students, MFC educators have started creating videos in their homes and neighborhoods.
We really like this video of River making oatmeal pancakes. River does a great job showing the steps of the recipe and making each instruction approachable for kids! She gives alternatives for tools and ingredients and explains the science behind the recipe. This is a simple recipe for families to cook together, or let kids make the batter all by themselves. With River's instructions, they can do it!
