Eastside Food Co-op Hires Anne Gazzola as New General Manager

The Eastside Co-op Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Anne Gazzola has been hired to be the next General Manager of Eastside Food Co-op. Anne has been the Interim General Manager since late July 2023 and has been at Eastside as Store Operations Manager, Fresh Foods Manager and Deli Manager for the prior 8 ½ years. She replaces John Lacaria, our former GM of 7 years, who left the co-op to explore new careers in early August 2023.   

Anne comes to the GM role after 8 ½ years in other roles at Eastside. As Store Operations Manager for the past 4 ½ years, she worked closely with our former GM and built strong working relationships with staff across store departments. She’s been a key part of Eastside’s recent success and is already a respected store leader. Prior to that, she served as Deli Counter Supervisor for 6 ½ years at Seward Community Co-op and Deli Shift Lead & Baker at the Wedge Community Co-op for 4 years.  

Anne is a passionate advocate for the democratic co-op model and our local farmers. She is committed to supporting and empowering all staff in a healthy and joyful workplace. Anne says, “I love Eastside, and I’m honored to have the opportunity to serve the co-op, staff, and community in this new and exciting way!”
