Michelle Spangler

Michelle Spangler has served on the Eastside Food Co-op Board of Directors since 2019 and formerly served as Eastside’s Board Assistant.  She is currently the Board President, but has also held the roles of Policy Governance chair as well as the board’s Secretary and Treasurer.

In addition to work at Eastside, Michelle is engaged in work throughout her community.  In 2019, Michelle, a Minnesota Water Steward, founded the NE Storm Drain Challenge in an effort to raise awareness about the role storm drains play in the health of the Mississippi River.  Through her efforts, Northeast raised its storm drain adoption rates by 15%.  A former high school science teacher, Michelle has combined her passion for education with her love of gardening and began a new career as a garden designer for Mother Earth Gardens.  Michelle has lived in Northeast for 16 years with her husband and two elementary-age children.
