Round Up to Support Division of Indian Work

Our January Seedlings recipient is Division of Indian Work. Round up your purchases all month long to support their work.

Division of Indian Work’s (DIW) mission is to support and strengthen urban American Indian people through culturally-based education, traditional healing approaches, and leadership development. DIW focuses on community and partners with other organizations. DIW has been a key contributor to the Native community for more than 65 years by providing programs such as Youth Leadership Development Program (YLDP), Strengthening Family Circles, Healing Spirit and Health Services. DIW is a lead partner in the Indigenous Food Network, providing food access to the urban American Indian community living in Minneapolis.

DIW is committed to a healthy Indigenous diet. They have a Nutrition Coordinator who prepares Indigenous meals for programming and delivery of healthy meals to elders with mobility concerns in south Minneapolis. DIW hopes that by providing these meals in the community, they can help to decrease the number of health disparities among American Indian people including diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity.
